On July 24th, the Fox family welcomed Baby Benjamin into the world. I had the honor of visiting them shortly after the birth to photograph him while he was still in the hospital. This is called a Fresh 48 session.
I was anxious and excited walking down the halls of the hospital, trying to find the Fox's room. My stomach was filled with butterflies, as I entered the room to see the glowing family and their beautiful baby boy.
As I spent time with the family, I couldn't help but smile and tear up a little while photographing Benjamin.
I mean, I photograph newborns on a regular basis. But this was something different. This was something intimate.
I got to be a part of one of the most special moments in a family's life. The welcoming of a new child.
As I stayed and captured the smiles, tears, and overload of love, I realized what an honor this was. It made me realize how lucky I was to have the job I have, and that I get to share these intimate moments with the kindest families.
I don't encourage families to take pictures often, but newborn moments, and the fleeting moments in the hospital, are moments that are unforgettable.
As you can see by the photographic story shown here, there is an intimacy that comes with Fresh 48 sessions that occur very few times within our lives.
Thank you to the Fox family for inviting me in on such a special and intimate moment in your lives. It was truly unforgettable, and I hope that I get to capture many more precious sessions just like yours.
